BRASS WIRE

The most widely used EDM wire today is brass wire. Brass material is obtained by adding zinc to copper. Zinc has a better evaporation point than copper, so the increase in zinc ratio will increase the cutting speed and workpiece smoothness. But the increase in zinc ratio increases the fragility of wire after a point. The most ideal brass electrode is made with 60/40 Cu/Zn.

The tensile strength of brass wires varies between 54.000-173.000psi depending on the composition and tempering of the alloy. Brass wires are a good, versatile auxiliary wire that can be used by most modern machines. We provide our customers with brass wires that are suitable for the material to be cut in the fastest way.

Brass EDM Wires | Features

  • Tool steels and the economic cut of most metals are possible with straight brass wire.
  • It can range from 2% to 30% in hardness.
  • Low elongation percentages reliably pull teeth but are limited in sharpness.
  • High elongation wires can shrink up to 45 degrees and make the pointing process easily.
  • The wire diameter is controlled with a tolerance of ± 0.001 mm and is produced with high purity materials.
  • As a result of our unique heat treatment technology, robust mechanical and electrical properties are guaranteed.
  • Brass EDM wires are subject to stringent production standards and therefore provide reliable cutting performances.
  • It is suitable for taper cutting.

BRASS WIRE SPOOL USAGE

01

They are packed with dust, shock and oxidation-resistant materials to protect our wire rollers from transport damage and pollution.

02

The loose end of the wire must be properly fixed. Improper handling and storage of the pulley cause distortion and wire breakage.

03

Half wire reels should be stored in their original packaging.
