COATED WIRE

Coating wire with a special outer coating in electrical discharge processing can provide higher processing power. Coated wires contain copper or brass cores and are coated with metals such as zinc, copper, silver. Cutting performance is increased according to properties of materials used in this coating.

Higher zinc content of the outer layer protects core due to rapid evaporation from the inner core and reduces wire breaks. Due to this durability, additional electrical power can be given to increase the speed.

COATED WIRE | TYPES

%50 COPPER-ZINC PLATED WIRE

It increases rough machining speeds to %20. Therefore, it is ideal for long workpieces and poor flushing applications. In addition to fast cutting, it also provides accuracy capability of brass wires.

GAMMA-PHASE WIRE

Gamma-phase wire is capable of cutting 30% faster than standard brass wire. Ideal for both good and poor flushing applications. Because it leaves to dust, it can form a dust residue on the EDM rollers. Its reliability is lower than that of brass wire.

ZINC COATED WIRE

Zinc-coated wire processes faster and improves the workpiece surface quality. It offers more fine processing area than brass wire by coating with zinc that has good discharging quality. Almost no wire material will stick to the workpiece.

COATED EDM WIRE | ADVANTAGES

  • The coated wire can reach 20% to 30% faster cutting speeds than standard brass wire, thus increasing efficiency.
  • When the coated wire is used, the probability of wire breakage is significantly reduced.
  • When the coated wire is used, operational efficiency increases.
  • Less wire consumption per piece is provided.
  • Although rice is more expensive than wire, it can increase earnings by up to 19%.
